CABLING DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS
Digital Signal Distributor
Description of Product
![]() |
Digital signal distributor
is a universal distribution
system which can be installed anywhere in the transport network.
The development of transmission services such as ATM and
XDSL has led to an intermingling of exchange and transmission
functions. The digital signal distributor design concept contains
universally installable passive distribution solutions based on a
uniform connectivity concept for the various transmission media,
i.e. for:
❑ Symmetric cable, shielded and/or unshielded
❑ Coaxial cable
❑ Fibre-optic cable
With these media, data rates from 64kbit/s to 2.5Gbit/s can be
bundled and distributed.
Basic elements of the digital signal distributors are distribution
frames with pairs of parallel profile rods where the connectivity
components for the different types of cables can be snapped
onto. Using the system components described below, distributors
can be set up to meet customers size requirements.
Main Distribution Frame 91 M
Preferred
frame variant for 1200 pairs (2 x 600 pairs) for accommodation
of 10-pair LSA PROFIL modules on the system
and line sides. It can be configured as follows:
Advantages of this main distribution frame solution:
This type of frame has the module installation for the line and
system sides vertically in a single profile frame. This allows jumpering
within a single vertical row.
The standard design has a distance of 250 mm between vertical
rows and is sold as a 2-bay frame for vertical installation.
The maximum connection capacity per distribution frame of
the preferred variant is 1200 pairs (2 x 600 pairs) for the system
and line sides. Other frame sizes and their connection capacities
are shown below. Setting up banks of distribution frames
of arbitrary length is possible, taking into account that the jumpering
capacity of the horizontal jumper guides is approx.
4000 pairs (jumper with Ø 0.9 mm).
If required, the distribution frames can be equipped with backmount
frames for LSA-PLUS modules or for MDF 71 connection
components (installation dimensions: 290/210 mm).
Note: See the Configuration Description
(Order-No: 6577 3 995-00) for the configuration
of MDF 91 M distribution rows.

Wall-mounted Distribution Rack,
KWGP
These wall-mounted distribution racks can directly accommodate
LSA PROFIL modules with a fixing dimension of 95 mm.
They cannot be refitted for modules with a fixing dimension of
75 mm.
❑ 2 to 5-vertical versions are available
❑ Bay spacing (centre to centre): 210 mm
❑ Cable support and equipotential bar installed
❑ A sufficient number of cable guide rings is fitted both horizontally
and vertically
❑ Can be installed in data distribution cabinets (but not
directly in 19" racks)
- 2-vertical version in cabinets with a width/depth
of 600 mm
- 3-vertical version in cabinets with a width/depth
of 800 mm
❑ Arrangement in rows with other rack units is possible but
the jumpering volume has to be taken into account; Extension
kit, consisting of standard parts, must be ordered
separately (Order-No: 6569 3 052-11) Fiche technique
❑ Fixing and standard parts (lateral C rails, connecting elements,
M6 and M8 nuts, bolts, toothed washers) for installation
in the cabinet system must be ordered
separately (Order-No: 6569 2 052-02)
LSA PROFIL® Wall-mounted
Distribution Kit
Basic-kit
The LSA-PROFIL wall-mounted distributor rack kit is used for
fast installations onto walls or into 19" systems. Up to 3 profile
bays can be mounted on the 500 mm long C rails. Each profile
bay consists of two round
rods (800 mm long) and 2 LSA profile
rods 95, as well as a sufficient number of jumper guides,
which are mounted on the upper and lower C rails. Each bay
can accommodate up to 32 LSA PROFIL modules, which means
that a 3-bay distributor can accommodate up to 960 pairs
(gross). Banks of distributor racks can be set up; however, they
should be limited to two basic kits (the jumpering volume has
to be taken into account!).
Two kits are available
❑ Basic kit
❑ Extension kit
With the exception of the two 500 mm long C profile rails in
the basic kit, the two kits contain the same components and
the same number of each component.
Outdoor Distribution Cabinets
Fiche technique (4Mo)
Thanks to an especially designed product portfolio outdoor
distributors satisfy all relevant requirements such as optimal
protection of the installed components, technical
compatibility of the products to be installed, a high resistance
to climatic and environmental influences, as well as absolute
maintenance-free operation.
Since not all network nodes are to be found in the exchanges,
outdoor distribution cabinets of different design and size are
used: terminating distribution boxes for up to 200 pairs and
cross connection cabinets for up to 2400 pairs.
All outdoor distributors satisfy the constantly growing requirements
in functionality and security against unauthorized access,
since configuration of the networks is becoming
increasingly complex. The age of pure telephony belongs to
the past: today voice, data and video are transmitted and not
only over copper lines but increasingly over glass fibre, the
technology of the future.
To satisfy the increased requirements, there is an increasing
need with both transmission media for active transmission
components to ensure or enhance effectiveness.
The design of outdoor distributors offers an ideal environment
for the various connectivity and active transmission
components. The type of protection and of ventilation play the
decisive role here.
Security of access is guaranteed by high-quality locking systems.
